When dogs really do sit for their Old Masters - in paintings.

The affinity between most American Presidents and their dogs is near legendary. Ulysses Grant had a Newfoundland and George Washington owned dogs of several breeds. Other American historical figures had dogs too - Robert E. Lee had a black and tan terrier for example. So what would happen if the portraits of great Americans (and some not so great) were hijacked by their dogs? David has experimented with matching breeds with personalities - Benjamin Franklin as a pensive Pug? What about the Iowa farmer and his daughter as serious working breeds?
