When dogs really do sit for their Old Masters - in paintings.

The affinity between most American Presidents and their dogs is near legendary. Ulysses Grant had a Newfoundland and George Washington owned dogs of several breeds. Other American historical figures had dogs too - Robert E. Lee had a black and tan terrier for example. So what would happen if the portraits of great Americans (and some not so great) were hijacked by their dogs?
